Self Inspection, a San Diego company that is specialized in AI-driven vehicle inspection, has closed the seed funding round in the amount of $3 million. Led by Costanoa Ventures and DVx Ventures, the round was joined by Westlake Financial, one of the largest financial institutions specializing in automotive loans.

The $3 million seed round is a significant milestone for Self Inspection as it accelerates its mission to revolutionize vehicle inspections through advanced artificial intelligence solutions. The co-leadership of Costanoa Ventures and DVx Ventures underscores the confidence investors have in Self Inspection’s innovative approach to addressing longstanding challenges in the automotive industry.

The inspection is carried out using a smartphone camera with high-resolution capabilities and generates configurable reports that are easy to interpret and make it easy for different stakeholders, including financial institutions, fleet managers, and automotive dealerships, to manage their work.

Self Inspection is led by founder and Chief Executive Officer Constantine Yaremtso, a veteran professional with more than 15 years of experience in managing and developing enterprise-level software.

Before establishing Self Inspection, Yaremtso had held senior software management positions at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Affymetrix, and Kannaway. With his vast experience in software development and project management, he is well-positioned to provide the leadership needed for Self Inspection’s growth and acceptance of its solutions across the automotive industry.

The company also had leadership roles contributed by the erstwhile industry greats who made Apple, NVIDIA, Tesla, and Coinbase before. Therefore, Self Inspection comprises an eclectic aggregation of extensive AI, computer vision, and knowledge of the auto-industry market, where people have gained deep insight by experimenting with this particular space through real-time analysis.
