NVIDIA has unveiled Project DIGITS, a personal AI supercomputer that costs $3,000. The company announced the product at CES 2025. Project DIGITS is designed to enable AI researchers, data scientists, and students to work with complex AI models on a compact yet powerful system.

Technical Specifications

At the heart of Project DIGITS is NVIDIA’s new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, delivering up to 1 petaflop of AI performance. This level of performance allows the system to handle AI models with up to 200 billion parameters, making it possible for advanced research and development in machine learning and deep learning.

Key specs include:

  • Memory: 128GB of unified memory, which ensures efficient data handling and processing.
  • Storage: Up to 4TB of NVMe storage, supporting huge datasets and models.
  • Scalability: To support more resource-intensive applications, two Project DIGITS systems can be connected to allow for models of up to 405 billion parameters.

The GB10 Superchip includes energy-efficient Arm-based cores, developed by the company with MediaTek, designed to optimize performance while maintaining energy efficiency.

Project DIGITS runs on NVIDIA’s Linux-based DGX OS, providing users with access to NVIDIA’s extensive AI software library. The system supports popular frameworks and tools, including PyTorch, Python, and Jupyter notebooks, ensuring compatibility with existing workflows and facilitating seamless integration into various AI development environments.

Integration and Deployment

Designed to be versatile, Project DIGITS can be integrated with both cloud and data center deployments, using the same architecture and software platform of NVIDIA’s larger systems.
