Funding Details

The $20 million Series B funding round was co-led by Walden Catalyst Ventures and NGP Capital, both recognized for their investment in cutting-edge technology companies. Existing investors including True Ventures, Exfinity Venture Partners, Athera Venture Partners, and Blume Ventures also participated to reflect continued confidence in the vision and execution of Ati Motors. In this latest round, the total funding of the company has risen to over $37 million, building a robust financial foundation for the ambitious growth plans.

With new funding, Ati Motors plans:
  • Accelerate the development of the product: Investing in research and development to boost existing products, as well as new solutions better suited to meeting the changing demands of the market.
  • Expand global footprints: Operations in North America, Asia-Pacific would be strengthened further, with the focus on being a significant player in Detroit, Michigan, and other operations in Mexico.
  • Improve Fleet Management Capabilities : Design and develop sophisticated software solutions for the efficient management and orchestration of a wide variety of robotic fleets, including multi-vendor environments.

Product Line

Ati Motors’ product range has been designed to tackle various material handling requirements of the complex operations of modern manufacturing units:

  • Sherpa Tugging Robots: autonomously transport trolleys and bins and save both labor and time.
  • Pallet Movers and Lifters: It enables robots to move pallets of different dimensions and weight. The product shortens distances moved in the store and factory.

All robots are built upon a completely bespoke autonomous platform built in-house to ensure that the entire hardware and software is well combined. 3D LIDAR sensors allow for spatial awareness and enable the robots to work efficiently in conditions such as uneven flooring, gradients, and obstacles.

Global Expansion Plans

Ati Motors has already put hundreds of its Sherpa robots across 40 manufacturing facilities across the globe, and these include well-known clients like Airbus, Ceat Tyres, Forvia, Hyundai, Samsung, and TVS Motor.

30% of the facilities above belong to Fortune 500 companies. This says it all: trust and reliability from the industry that Ati Motors has earned over the years. The company intends to use the new capital raised to increase its presence in North America, specifically in Detroit, to meet increasing demand for automating the auto industry. Its operations in Mexico and Southeast Asia are also expected to be strengthened to help clients adopt the ‘China plus one’ strategy, diversifying manufacturing operations.
