The flagship model of the UltraGear GX9 series is a 45-inch OLED monitor boasting a 5K2K resolution, 5120 x 2160 pixels, with a 21:9 aspect ratio. This setup provides gamers with an expansive and detailed visual field that enhances immersion and clarity. What makes this monitor different from others is its bendable design, which enables it to change from a flat screen to a 900R curvature in a few seconds, thus customizing the viewing experience to one’s preferences and the kind of game being played.

Key Features and Specs

  • Display Quality: Vibrant colors, deep blacks, and a rapid response time of 0.03ms guarantee the minimum amount of motion blur and ensure an all but seamless gaming experience.
  • Refresh Rate and Compatibility: While refresh rate details are not specified, LG’s UltraGear monitors have typically supported high refresh rates, and this model should be compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, ensuring smooth visuals without screen tearing.
  • Connectivity: The monitor comes with multiple ports, including DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery, accommodating a wide range of devices and peripherals.
  • Ergonomics: The design features an ergonomic stand, which can easily be readjusted height, tilt, and swivel settings for comfort, especially during protracted gaming sessions.

Dual-Mode Feature

This monitor from LG comes with the Dual-Mode feature. This allows it to shift between different modes of presets in terms of resolution and refresh rate quickly. For gamers who specialize in more than one genres, they require different game performance.

In addition to the flexible variant, LG has announced a non-curved 45-inch version with an 800R curvature that also comes with the same 5K2K resolution. Both models have the same core specs, such as the 0.03ms response time and connectivity options.

It further brings on UltraGear 39GX90SA, a 39″ curved monitor with an 800R curvature and 21:9 aspect ratio. This particular model is powered by webOS from LG, so essentially an entertainment device itself with no dependent use of a connected PC as it can stream content, has USB Type-C ports, and an L-shaped ergonomic stand for gamers as well as multimedia enthusiasts alike.

LG’s introduction of the first bendable 5K2K gaming monitor is set to create a new benchmark in the industry. The ultra-high resolution, OLED technology, and customizable curvature cater to the changing needs of gamers who require immersive, flexible gaming configurations.

This design bendable feature enables users to customize their viewing experience, enhancing immersion in various gaming environments. It also has high resolution and rapid response times, which are more suited to competitive gamers and ensures that fast-paced action is shown clearly and with precision.

Availability and Pricing

LG is planning to demonstrate the UltraGear GX9 series at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, and the company will give attendees a hands-on look at these new monitors. The company has not released pricing or exact release dates but has stated that these details will be announced later in 2025.
